Carpathian Garlic Seed Bulbs
$3.75/bulb. 6-10 large cloves per bulb.
Carpathian is a hardneck variety in the Rocambole family. It’s known for a deep and rich flavor, and a reliable grower. Bonus - slugs leave it alone! Plant in the fall for the following summer harvest.
Grown by Farragut Farm a small-scale, mixed vegetable farm located off the grid in Farragut Bay, Alaska!
This variety averages 6-10 cloves per bulb and is long storing (~6 months). Recommended clove spacing is 6"-9" apart and 2" deep.
Hardneck varieties such as this one will send up a flower stalk in the summer called a scape. When the scape has formed one curl they should be removed so the growth is directed back into the bulb. Scapes are a wonderfully tasty treat!
Seed will be in Cordova in late September and ready for planting. Plant garlic 2-4 weeks before the ground freezes (not your first frost).
